Gurgling is a clue. When a Winnipeg homeowner noticed the bathroom sink draining slowly and heard the pipes gurgle every time the toilet flushed, that pointed past the sink itself and into the line behind the wall.

Our technician started by pulling the P-trap under the sink, which is the fastest way to rule out the easy answer. The trap was clear, so the blockage had to be further down the branch line. We worked it manually from there, and it took several attempts before it finally let go.

Clearing a drain is only half the job. Proving it stays clear is the other half. We ran water through the line for a full 45 minutes afterward with no sign of backing up. That is the difference between a drain that is open and a drain that is actually fixed.

While on site we also flagged two things for the homeowner to think about down the road: the main floor toilet has no shut-off valve of its own, and the tub cartridge has gotten stiff though it still works. Neither was urgent, and neither was added to the bill.

Slow drains and gurgling pipes rarely sort themselves out. Our drain cleaning team will clear the line and tell you plainly what caused it. Call or text (204) 808-3000.
