Dry air in the winter doesn’t just mean static shocks and cracked lips — it can affect wood floors, furniture, and comfort throughout an entire home. This St. Jean Baptiste homeowner asked us to fix it properly, not with a portable unit that needs refilling every few days.

We installed a whole-home bypass humidifier tied directly into the furnace ductwork, which meant reworking the drop duct to fit the new unit and relocating a component nearby for proper clearance. The old condensate tubing was in rough shape, so we replaced that too rather than leave it as a weak point.

To control it all, we installed a new touchscreen smart thermostat that manages humidity alongside temperature and sends notifications if something needs attention — no more guessing whether the humidifier is doing its job.

The result is steadier indoor humidity through the coldest months, without another gadget to remember to refill. If dry air, drafts, or an aging furnace setup are on your mind this fall, our Morris-area heating team can take a look.
