A basement lift station is one of those things you never think about until it stops keeping up. A homeowner in Mitchell called about a pump that was running but not moving what it should, and was not even sure what kind of pump it was.
Our technician opened up the basin and found a worn submersible sewage pump at the end of its service life. Rather than patch it, we replaced it with a half-horsepower submersible sewage pump built for the job, along with a new piggyback float switch so it cycles on and off when it should.
The discharge piping had also seen better days, so we repiped those connections in fresh two-inch ABS with new couplings and elbows. That clears out the weak joints and gives the new pump a clean, properly supported run.
The result is a basin that empties quietly and reliably. No guessing, no listening for it at night, no waiting for the day it quits entirely and backs up into the basement.
If a sump or sewage pump in your home is cycling oddly, running constantly, or not keeping up, our plumbing repair team can tell you exactly what is going on. Call or text (204) 808-3000.
