Serving Manitoba since 1974

When one toilet backs up you suspect the toilet. When two do it at once, the fixtures are almost certainly innocent and the problem is in the line they share.

That was the case at this Lorette home. Our technician worked back from the fixtures and found the blockage in the three-inch trap arm serving them, which sits far enough downstream to affect both at the same time.

We cleared the line, then kept going and ran the main as well. That second part is the bit worth paying for: a blockage that far down often has something behind it, and finding out on the day beats finding out the next time the washing machine drains.

With the line open and the main confirmed clear, both toilets went back to draining the way they should.

If more than one fixture is backing up in your home, treat it as a line problem rather than a fixture problem. Our Winnipeg-area plumbing team can find where it actually is. Call or text (204) 808-3000.
